What To Expect
First time at Grace Church of North Olmsted?
It can be a little intimidating to visit a church for the first time, especially if you have no idea what to expect when you arrive. It can also be a little difficult to determine what to expect when visiting, based on the knowledge you gain through a church website. So we thought it might be helpful if we told you something about our Sunday morning service so that you might know what to expect when you visit.
We are a Bible-centered church
Since we believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, everything we do is based on the Bible, including our worship service. The pastor preaches generally between 50 and 60 minutes on a text of Scripture, explaining the text verse by verse. We recommend you bring your Bible with you, although we do have Bibles in the pews.
We have a traditional service
Our service is traditional in the sense that (1) our service is centered on the expository preaching of the Bible; and (2) our music consists of congregational singing of hymns with the accompaniment of a piano. It is our intent to keep the service both simple and reverent because that is how we are commanded in the Scriptures to approach God.
We are a relatively small church
The great advantage of a smaller church is a family-like atmosphere. You will find that we are a church that is friendly and that enjoys fellowship. We usually stay around and talk for a while after the service. We also have a surprising amount of diversity both in regard to age and nationality, considering the size of our congregation.
We have a lot of children
When you visit us, you may be surprised to see how many children there are among us. We consider this both an immeasurable blessing from the Lord and a sobering responsibility before the Lord.
