Welcome to Grace Church on line. We hope you take a few moments to review our site and catch a glimpse of our vision. We are a fellowship of like-minded believers who are committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the authority of God's Word in our lives. We invite you to follow up your visit to this website with a visit to one of our services.
MEDITATION FOR JANUARY:
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven . . . – Matthew 6:9
Our Lord gave us a wonderful pattern for prayer. His introductory words (after this manner) make it clear that He did not intend for us to repeat it over and over again word for word; that would be to imitate the heathen (see Matthew 6:7-8). In this succinct yet thorough prayer we have a veritable summation of all that the Bible tells us a child of the living God should and does ask for in prayer. But far too often the opening address is passed over without thought. Who we pray to and what we believe and think about the One to whom we pray, will determine how we pray and what we ask for in prayer. We first understand that we come to our Father. All who are born again in Christ Jesus call God, Father (John 1:12,13). As our Father, He perfectly provides for all of our needs, protects us from all dangers, counsels us, chastises us . . . because He loves us (1 John 4:19). But we do not come to an earthly father, rather He is our heavenly Father. He is the One who is infinitely above us, separate from us, dwelling in unapproachable light, perfect in all His ways. He is the holy, almighty, infinite God. So that when we come to our Father who is in heaven, we come with great boldness because we are accepted in Christ, but we also come with humility, reverence, and meekness because He is the Lord of the universe.
We have returned to our regular Sunday evening services, meeting at 6:30pm.
